Board Activities

The Board of the Choral Arts Foundation, in addition to administering current programs, is working on other projects that will help the Foundation reach its goals.

A Choristers’ Summit, held on June 6, 2009, brought together directors and singers to discuss common aspirations, needs, and challenges facing Upper Valley choral groups. CAFUV has used these insights to plot a course to help choral organizations to reach their goals.

Current projects

  • Improve information resources through a website that includes a calendar. a bulletin board, a place to list music libraries, access to instrumentalists, with individual pages for each member organization. Current status: Website up but many pages still under construction.
  • Offer workshops focused on a variety of topics to help participants develop as musicians, improve their organizations, and build the choral community. Current status: Melinda O’Neal workshop for singers and directors scheduled for June 2010.
  • Improve the grants program by clarifying and streamlining the application process.
