The Choristers’ Summit
On June 6, 2009, the Foundation hosted a Choristers’ Summit, a first step toward creating an Upper Valley choral community. Summit participants discussed common aspirations, needs and challenges; these discussions helped CAFUV plot its own course toward assisting choral organizations to reach their goals.
As a result, CAFUV is actively pursuing these projects:
Improve Information Resources
Provide a website that will permit easy communication through a calendar, a bulletin board, a place to list music libraries, access to instrumentalists, and so forth, plus a page for any member organization.
Offer Workshops
Organize workshops on a variety of topics to help participants develop as musicians, improve their organizations, and build the choral community. We have begun work on a fall gathering with a menu of workshop options. Please let us know if you would like to be a presenter or if you can recommend a presenter.
Provide Grants
Clarify and streamline the Foundation’s grants program.
