Call for singers

On Tuesday February 21, the Freelance Family Singers begin practicing for their May 5th and 6th concerts. The weekly Tuesday rehearsals are held at the First Congregational Church, 36 Elm St., Woodstock, Vt., from 7 to 9 p.m. All ages may participate; there are no auditions. There is a $15.00 participation fee with scholarship help available. A wide variety of music is sung with opportunities for  small ensembles and solos. The chorus is directed by Ellen Satterthwaite (802-457-3980).

The Feminine Tone women’s chorus has openings for the spring season. All voice ranges are needed.  Rehearsals will be held on Wednesday evenings, from 6:30 to 8:30, beginning Jan. 11th, in Springfield, Vermont. Singers must be available for the concert dates of April 21 and 22. The 30 voice women’s chorus performs an eclectic mix of songs from diverse cultures and traditions, delighting audiences in the Upper Valley for more than a decade. Visit the Feminine Tone website for more information. Wrensong is looking for a tenor to sing secular and religious material from the Renaissance and holiday carols. We perform about six times throughout the year. For information, e-mail dclark1172@gmail.com

Call for directors

The Thetford Chamber Singers is a community chorus of 35 singers based in Thetford, Vermont. With the retirement of our founding director after 33 years, we are seeking a highly talented, community minded conductor/director to build on the traditions of this group. Rehearsals begin the first Wednesday after New Year’s Day for the spring concert. Information about the Chamber Singers, as well as a job description, schedule, and submittal requirements for this position, are available at the Thetford Chamber Singers website. Call for church musicians

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in White River Junction, Vt., is searching for piano accompanist subs and may in the future have a long term accompanist position. Services are Sunday mornings. Choir rehearsal runs from 9-10 a.m. with the service beginning at 10. Please contact Jennifer Chambers, Music Director, at chambernote@gmail.com for more information.

Meriden Congregational Church in Meriden, N.H., is searching for a church organist. Position primarily requires Sunday mornings and special services. Please contact Becky Luce, choir director at becky.luce52554@gmail.com for more information.

First Congregational Church of Hopkinton, N.H., is seeking a choir director for a talented 18-voice chancel choir. The position is part-time and begins September 2012. The candidate should have a strong background in traditional sacred music as well as familiarity with contemporary Christian, gospel, jazz, and other types of music offerings. The choir meets for rehearsal for approximately 1.5 hours during the week and 1 hour before service on Sunday morning.
