Lyme Congregational Church Adult Choir

Choir Director: Jennifer Yocom

The Lyme Congregational Church, United Church of Christ (UCC) adult choir rehearses Sunday mornings at 9:15 am (September-May). A mid-week rehearsal is held rarely — in preparation for Easter, Christmas, and/or the yearly Music Sunday. There is also a children’s choir, a children’s bell choir, and an occasional adult bell choir. The church hosts organ and choral concerts. The adult choir supplemented by community singers rehearses six times for the annual Lyme Christmas Pageant, held on the second weekend of December. The adult choir has hosted several Grafton-Orange Association (NH-UCC) Choir Festival.

2012 Choir Festival

This year, in honor of the Meetinghouse’s 200th anniversary, the church is hosting the choir festival on Sunday April 29th from 3 to 8:30 p.m. All churches in the Upper Valley are invited to bring their choirs to join in. Space is limited to 100 singers, so the church will accept choirs on a first-come, first-served basis. Contact Abbe Murphy <Abigail.Murphy@valley.net> or call the church office (603-795-2850). Members of all the choirs will sing together under the direction of Jennifer Yocom and accompanied by Church of Christ at Dartmouth College music director, Ernie Drown. The anthems for the massed choirs are Hubert Parry’s “I Was Glad” and an arrangement of the spiritual “Ride On King Jesus.” Each choir is also invited to bring one or two favorite anthems to add to the program.
