The Feminine Tone
Director: Maricel Lucero The Feminine Tone, a 35-member women’s concert chorus performs an eclectic mix of music from diverse cultures, languages, and traditions. From heartfelt African freedom songs to Renaissance Madrigals, from haunting British Isles melodies and polyrhythmic Cuban folk tunes to songs of contemporary women composers, the repertoire is rich, unique, and inspiring. These talented, polished performers elicit a range of audience emotions as they deliver a concert of memorable entertainment of a cappella and accompanied music. The Feminine Tone has traveled to Cuba three times since 2001 and is planning to return in November of 2009.
