Sounding Joy! is a 25-member auditioned chorus of singers from Randolph, Vermont, and a number of surrounding towns. Founded and directed by Marjorie Drysdale of Randolph, the group has been offeringa wide range of innovative concerts in Central Vermont since 1984.
Sounding Joy! performs a classical repertoire that spans seven centuries, historical American music, and new original music, especially by Vermont composers, including Gwyneth Walker, Kathy Wonson Eddy, Erik Nielsen and David Gunn. The chorus has performed with the Montpelier Chamber Orchestra, the Vermont Philharmonic Orchestra, and other Vermont choruses. Sounding Joy! been invited to perform at the Vermont History Exposition, the Vermont State House, the Governor’s Ball, and on Vermont Public Radio.
