The Springfield (Vt.) Community Chorus welcomes members of all abilities and vocal ranges from High School through adulthood. Ken Olsson, director of the chorus, comes with extensive experience in directing, accompanying, and performing. A graduate of Ithaca College with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, Olsson regularly challenges the chorus to expand and develop their musical abilities while providing complete vocal instruction and choral direction. In recent seasons Olsson has led the chorus in performances of works by Mozart, Puccini, Mendelsohn, Vivaldi and Haydn.
Springfield Community Chorus Announces Start up for the Spring Concert Extravaganza
Springfield Community Chorus is starting it’s spring season of it’s 50th year by inviting new members to join. No tryouts are required. Rehearsals are on Monday evenings at 7:00 pm. at the Unitarian Universalist Church at 21 Fairground Road, Springfield ,Vermont. Ken Olsson is the director. The Spring concerts will be in collaboration with the Bennington Choral Society. Combined choruses will sing the fourth movement of Beethoven’s 9th Symphonie accompanied by a full orchestra. The May 6th concert wil be sung in Bennington and the May 7th concert will be in Springfield. The choruses will also be singing a world premire choral work by a Vermont composer, Zeke Hecker.
